Digital Anvil possibly working on Xbox 2 game.
gi speculates that Digital Anvil Studios, the Texas-based game development company, is in the process of developing a game for the planned Xbox 2 platform. Digital Anvil was acquired by Microsoft Game Studios in 2001, and is repsonsible for games such as Brute Force and Freelancer. A job advertisement for the company on Microsoft's website stated that they are seeking "an experienced programmer to help us deliver stunning graphics on next generation hardware".

Electronic Arts announces that it will release the sequel to its hip-hop-inspired fighting game this fall.
According to GameSpot, EA has stated that it has commenced development of the sequel to their hip hop fighting game, Def Jam Vendetta. Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube versions are being developed. "As the line between games and traditional forms of entertainment continues to blur, EA will continue to partner with strong brands like Def Jam to redefine the rules with innovative new titles like Def Jam Vendetta II," said Jeff Karp, vice president of marketing for EA.

NCAA Hoops king predicted by 989 Sports.
Taking a page from EA Sports Madden Football's Bowl before the Superbowl, 989 Sports used NCAA Final Four 2004 to predict the outcome of this weekend's Final Four matchup. The game between Duke and UConn ended with a Huskie victory. In the battle between Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State, Tony Allen's skills took the Cowboy's to victory. And in the Championship Game, the Huskies proved to be victorious with a 72-65 victory over Oklahoma St.

Tamagotchi Plus can mate, have kids, but its demands soon grow tiresome.
Remember when you had to interupt watching Seinfeld to make sure your Tamagotchi was being tended to? Well, the virtual pet champion of 1996 is making a comeback. MSNBC has revealed that Bandai is bringing them back to the U.S. later this year in a new improved form. The Tamagotchi Plus is already available in Japan and now is able to interact with other Tamagotchis.

The creator of the upcoming EverQuest II announces a brand-new, highly unusual feature to appear in its upcoming online game.
GameSpot reports that Sony Online Entertainment will be including a voice-over feature in the sequel to EverQuest. NPCs will be able to speak through a full audio. This is the first time that such a feature has been included in an online role-playing games, which traditionally use speech bubbles and windows to communicate. EverQuest 2 is set in original's world of Norrath, after a series of disasters have changed the world forever.
