Game over for Microsoft's Xbox sports games
After getting a beatdown in the sports genre on the Xbox, Microsoft has decided to throw in the towel on their football, basketball, hockey, golf, tennis, and snowboarding series on the Xbox.
As quoted by Reuters, "After analyzing market conditions and customer feedback, we're focused on closing the quality gap between our sports line-up and that of our competitors," Kevin Browne, who manages sports games for Microsoft Game Studios, said. "Therefore we will not be shipping new versions of our sports games this fall." The game series that are affected are "NFL Fever," "NBA Inside Drive", "NHL Rivals" , "Links," "Top Spin" and "Amped".
