Xbox price cut

More game for the buck

In a move intended to make the Xbox more competetive with the PS2, Microsoft is cutting its price by $30 in the US, about the same in Canada, and $45 in Mexico. Several games and the Music Mixer also will get a discounted price. Microsoft is playing catch up with Sony, with only 13.7 million Xbox consoles shipped worldwide, compared to ove r70 million PS2s. The price cut is one way that Microsoft is hoping to attract more casual gamers to its fold. There is some speculation that Microsoft was forced to make the price cut after rumors of such a move leaked to the gaming press.
