The GBA will soon be able to play cartridges containing episodes of popular cartoon shows.
From Reuters, "Starting in May, Edison, N.J.-based Majesco, a unit of ConnectivCorp. will sell video cartridges that make the Game Boy Advance (GBA) like a mini-DVD player with the buttons controlling functions like advance and rewind." The story also mentions "Each $20 cartridge, made possible by Majesco's technology that compresses the video, will carry several episodes comprising some 45 minutes in all. Cartridges carrying 90 minutes will be available later this year, Majesco said."
From GamePro, "Majesco announced today a three-year agreement with 4Kids Entertainment to publish a total of 12 episodes of 4Kids' cartoon for its new Game Boy Advance Video product line. Episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh!, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and Sonic X are expected to be released for the handheld console."

Is Yu-Gi-Oh about to be de-throned by another card-based video game?
From The Mercury News, "The fresh craze is Duel Masters, another trading-card game that's also an animated TV series, comic book and merchandise phenomenon from Japan. Surprise, it features extraordinary creatures and lots of battles. The video-game angle is that Atari is developing the material for Game Boy Advance and PlayStation 2, with the first product scheduled to arrive in June: Duel Masters: Sempai Legends for GBA."

Nintendo planning Q4 blitz for Cube and Game Boy Advance
gi reports that Nintendo of America has revised their fourth quarter plans. The Gamecube should have a good holiday season, with titles such as Geist, Mario Tennis, Metroid Prime 2, Paper Mario 2, Star Fox 2, and Mario Party 6 scheduled for release. Between now and then, expect monthly new releases as ""Wario Ware, Inc.: Mega Party Game$ sticks to its April 5th date (and budget price point), followed by Custom Robo Battle Revolutions on May 10th, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure on June 7th, Pikmin 2 in August and Donkey Konga in September." GBA owners have "Mario Vs. Donkey Kong on May 24th and Mario Golf Advance Tour on June 28th. Disappointingly though, it appears that NoA will not be following Nintendo Japan's lead in bundling the GBA wireless link adapter with Mario Golf. Instead, the wireless adapter will be released with GBC remakes Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green in September."
From GameSpot, "The list also confirmed that Geist, Mario Tennis, Mario Party 6, Metroid Prime 2, and Star Fox 2 will touch down in time for the 2004 holiday season (i.e., in Q4). Spring will see WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$ (April 5) and Custom Robo (May 10), while summer will herald The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures (June 7) and Pikmin 2 (August). GameCubin' bongo players will also be pleased to know that Donkey Konga's US release has been confirmed for September."

Shrunken Old Skool NES memories
According to GamePro, the successful Famicom-Mini line is coming to the U.S. Nintendo is planning to bring some retro NES memories to the GBA, with a restyled Game Boy Advance SP that will look resemble a miniature NES console along with eight classic NES reworked for the Game Boy Advance. The games are Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros, Excitebike, Ice Climber, Xevious and Bomberman and are expected to sell for $19.99 each. The retro GBA SP will cost the same as the standard SP model, at $99.99.
From Gamers, "Wait 'til you hear! On June 7, Nintendo is going totally retro with a classic collection of eight Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) games for the Game Boy Advance and a tubular new Game Boy Advance SP that looks like an itty bitty NES console. The '80s were, like, a long time ago. But everything from then is way cool again. Back then, games went from blocky bleeps and bloops to sweet side-scrollers like Super Mario Bros. And the most excellent NES saved the day for the video game industry. Bonus!"
