The gaming generation connects with Army recruiters interactively.
Forget about having Sarge giving you a pep talk about how great life in the Army can be. America's Army has become a runaway hit, and the U.S. Army is delighted at the opportunity to get new recruits. They're even hosting tournaments so gamers can truly see if they can be the best that they can be. "This is a fantastic recruiting opportunity," says Lt. Col. John Gillette. "We would like to sign up as many as possible. We are looking for five to ten." Currently available on the PC, console versions are in development to broaden the audience (and recruitment pool) that the game caters to. Perhaps we'll finally get a chance to find those elusive weapons of mass destruction after all.

Shrunken Old Skool NES memories
According to GamePro, the successful Famicom-Mini line is coming to the U.S. Nintendo is planning to bring some retro NES memories to the GBA, with a restyled Game Boy Advance SP that will look resemble a miniature NES console along with eight classic NES reworked for the Game Boy Advance. The games are Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros, Excitebike, Ice Climber, Xevious and Bomberman and are expected to sell for $19.99 each. The retro GBA SP will cost the same as the standard SP model, at $99.99.
From Gamers, "Wait 'til you hear! On June 7, Nintendo is going totally retro with a classic collection of eight Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) games for the Game Boy Advance and a tubular new Game Boy Advance SP that looks like an itty bitty NES console. The '80s were, like, a long time ago. But everything from then is way cool again. Back then, games went from blocky bleeps and bloops to sweet side-scrollers like Super Mario Bros. And the most excellent NES saved the day for the video game industry. Bonus!"

And you thought Mr. Mosquito was an odd game concept.
Total Games has selected ten games that they consider odd in the way of their storyline. OK -- that search for the "Surfboard of the Ancients" parts in Greendog (Genesis) is an obvious choice, but hey, the plot of the original Donkey Kong seemed plausible to me.
