Midway is giving away copies of MK: Deadly Alliance when you pre-order the upcoming Psi-Ops.
According to Gigex, as part of the official pre-order campaign for the upcoming Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy from Midway, anyone who pre-orders a copy of the game will also get a free copy of Midway's Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (a $19.95 value). Both games will ship together in June. Ps-Ops will be available on the PlayStation2 and Xbox systems.

Electronic Arts announces that it will release the sequel to its hip-hop-inspired fighting game this fall.
According to GameSpot, EA has stated that it has commenced development of the sequel to their hip hop fighting game, Def Jam Vendetta. Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube versions are being developed. "As the line between games and traditional forms of entertainment continues to blur, EA will continue to partner with strong brands like Def Jam to redefine the rules with innovative new titles like Def Jam Vendetta II," said Jeff Karp, vice president of marketing for EA.

NCAA Hoops king predicted by 989 Sports.
Taking a page from EA Sports Madden Football's Bowl before the Superbowl, 989 Sports used NCAA Final Four 2004 to predict the outcome of this weekend's Final Four matchup. The game between Duke and UConn ended with a Huskie victory. In the battle between Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State, Tony Allen's skills took the Cowboy's to victory. And in the Championship Game, the Huskies proved to be victorious with a 72-65 victory over Oklahoma St.

Konami of Europe has today released new information concerning the new close-quarter combat (CQC) system that will appear in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
According to GameSpot, Konami of Europe has detailed the close-quarter combat system to be used in the game. This will be used to mimic hand-to-hand combat techniques and will allow multiple opponent fights, and adds to the stealth approach of not using weapons to take out opponents.

Can you say Grand Theft Auto 11?
Andrew House, executive vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment of America, said in his keynote address at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, California that the PS2 is expected to have a ten year lifespan, similar to the still chugging PS One. This suggests that Sony is not pursuing development of the PlayStation3 platform as aggresively as earlier speculated. An early PSP game, "Death Jr." was also demonstrated (in emulated form on a PC) for the attendees.
