The Legend Of Spyro A New Beginning announced

Vivendi Games' Sierra Entertainment has announced the development of The Legend of Spyro A New Beginning, the latest installment to the 17 million-unit-selling Spyro franchise, coming this Fall to the PlayStation2, Xbox, GameCube, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS.

The completely new Spyro adventure, featuring gameplay focused heavily on dynamic action and fast-paced combat, uncovers the true origin of Spyro the Dragon as he evolves into a living, breathing weapon of explosive destruction! This epic story of Spyro's quest to discover his roots and realize his destiny is amazingly brought to life by leading Hollywood voice-over cast members Elijah Wood (Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings trilogy) as the new voice of Spyro; David Spade (The Benchwarmers) as Spyro's sidekick Sparx the dragonfly; and Gary Oldman (Sirius Black from the Harry Potter films) as Ignitus, the Fire Dragon Elder and Spyro's mentor.

In The Legend of Spyro A New Beginning, players will experience the awesome power of the purple dragon as they unleash devastating fury attacks, upgradeable breaths and ground-to-aerial melee combos in frenzied battles with hordes of menacing enemies and bone-chilling bosses. The action game also introduces a new dragon upgrade system, giving players the freedom to increase the power and variety of attacks to their liking. Developed by critically-acclaimed developers Krome Studios (console and Game Boy Advance) and Amaze Entertainment (Nintendo DS), The Legend of Spyro A New Beginning is scheduled to be released in October 2006.

"For the first time ever, The Legend of Spyro A New Beginning will reveal the origin of one of the most popular video game characters of all time," said Cindy Cook, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer for Vivendi Games. "With an entirely new game design centered on action and combat, coupled with a deep storyline that comes to life through the tremendous talent of our voice-over actors, The Legend of Spyro A New Beginning will deliver an explosive and exciting cinematic gameplay experience that Spyro fans and gamers of all ages will love."

The Legend of Spyro A New Beginning is scheduled to be available at retail in October 2006 for the PlayStation 2 system, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS.

Reservoir Dogs announced

Eidos Interactive today announced further details for Reservoir Dogs on the Xbox, the PlayStation2 and PC, releasing in autumn 2006.

In 1992 an unknown director released a film about five total strangers, teaming up to commit the perfect crime. The heist went wrong, people were killed and they smelt a rat. This is the premise for one of the most esteemed and duplicated directorial film debuts of all time. Based on Quentin Tarantino's cult classic and staying true to the original plot and chronology, this intense third person shooter follows the progress and planning of that famed heist, filling in some of the blanks left from the film: What happened to Mr. Blue and Mr. Brown? Where did Mr. Pink hide the diamonds? What actually happened at the heist? These questions and more will be answered as the game unfolds.

"We are proud to be working with one of the most original films to be released in our lifetime on a gaming format," said Helen Lawson, Brand Manager, Eidos Interactive. "Reservoir Dogs will appeal to both movie and gaming fans, and offers an unprecedented opportunity to play through the events of the movie and fill in the gaps."

Featuring the full, iconic soundtrack from the movie, the super sounds of the seventies brought to life including; 'Little Green Bag' and the unforgettable 'Stuck in the middle with you', play as all of the characters in this violent version of the film.

Reservoir Dogs will be released on PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC from autumn 2006.

X-Men: The Official Game to get top voice talent

Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Alan Cumming and Shawn Ashmore will reprise their X-Men film roles and lend their voices to Marvel's world famous mutants – Logan/Wolverine, Professor Charles Xavier, Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler and Bobby Drake/Iceman – in Activision Inc.'s X-Men: The Official Game.

The game catapults players into an original storyline that serves as a prelude to Twentieth Century Fox and Marvel Studio's upcoming film, 'X-Men: The Last Stand,' and allows them to command the distinct powers of Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Iceman as they face off against formidable enemies, battle through massive environments and embark on an epic quest to save mutant-kind.

"Having these actors renew their movie characters in X-Men: The Official Game immerses gamers in the X-Men movie universe," said Will Kassoy, vice president of global brand management, Activision Publishing. "Players will experience epic battles and uncover the events behind Nightcrawler's mysterious disappearance and the roles the X-Men and Brotherhood play in the upcoming film."

Co-written by Zak Penn, one of the film's screenwriters, and legendary comic book writer Chris Claremont, X-Men: The Official Game enables players to assume the roles of Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Iceman as they wield and upgrade their signature powers and maneuver through unique environments designed to showcase their Super Hero abilities. Assisted by other Marvel X-Men mutants, players use an advanced control scheme to master and evolve the characters as they unleash Wolverine's combat rage, experience Nightcrawler's acrobatics and teleportation powers, and tear through the air on Iceman's ice slide.

X-Men: The Official Game is being developed by Z-Axis for the PlayStation2, Xbox, and Xbox 360; Nintendo GameCube version by Hypnos Entertainment; Nintendo DS version by Amaze Entertainment; Game Boy Advance version by Wayforward Technologies; and Beenox Studios is developing the PC version.
