Sales of the Xbox have surged since Microsoft dropped the price of the console.
From Reuters, "Sales of Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox video game console have more than doubled since a price cut last week, one financial analyst said on Wednesday, confirming industry beliefs that lower prices would boost sales sharply in the short term. 'Our channel checks indicate the recent $30 price cut on Microsoft's Xbox (from $179.99 to $149.99) is causing a significant pickup in Xbox hardware sales,' Southwest Securities analyst Arvind Bhatia said in a note. 'We believe first-week retail sales of Xbox hardware, post-price cut, were more than double the weekly sales before the price cut.'

Will GoldenEye 2 benefit from part of the talent that took Halo to the heights of Xbox glory?
From , "The source confirmed that Dan Orzulak, a former Bungie designer off the Halo: Combat Evolved team, is one of the designers now lending his talent to the development of GoldenEye 2. The same source indicated that Takayoshi Sato is indeed part of the design team--and has been since his hire at EALA in February, 2003. 'It shouldn’t be any surprise that GoldenEye 2 has been in development for some time, though not necessarily called GoldenEye,' the source said."

The sequel to the Rocky game from 2002 is scheduled for a fall release.
"The ongoing partnership and resulting Rocky Legends video game with Ubisoft is the direct result of commercial and critical success from the first Rocky game," added Neil Haldar, vice president of production and business development, MGM Interactive. "Rocky Legends will again showcase our diversified and successful approach in collaborating with strong partners for our video game business." "Ubisoft is extremely excited to partner with Metro Goldwyn Mayer for the next round of Rocky success," said Florence Alibert, EMEA marketing director for Ubisoft. "With the huge success of the first Rocky video game, I'm confident Rocky 2 will be a knockout for gamers."
From IGN, "More specifically, Rocky Legends will work much in the same way the original game did -- allowing its users to train before big fights while following a distinct storyline on their way to the top. Rather than limiting gamers to the role of just Rocky, however, this new game will also allow them to assume the identities of Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, and Ivan Drago for career play as well."
From 1up, "The main addition in Rocky Legends is Xbox Live support -- the Xbox version of the game will feature head-to-head multiplayer competition online, as well as league play to get more than two boxers in the mix. Both versions will feature new venues and boxers from the movies, exploring the past of both major and minor characters, as well as added gameplay features to improve on the original's blend of arcade controls and realistic boxing strategy."

U.S. gamers with $169 will be able to buy a transparent green Xbox console and Halo bundled together.
From gi, "Launching on April 16th, the pack has a limited production run of 200,000 units, which - despite Microsoft's suggestions that fans will have to be quick to get hold of one - should probably mean that there are plenty to go around regardless of the "limited edition" strapline."
From Game Infowire, "'This special offer lets video gamers with 'Halo' envy easily and affordably adopt Xbox,' said Bill Nielsen, director of U.S. marketing for Xbox at Microsoft. 'We expect collectors, as well as those who have been waiting for the right time to purchase their Xbox system, to jump at this unique opportunity.'"

The arcade versions of the first three Mortal Kombat games are coming home, courtesy of Midway Arcade Treasures Volume II.
From Gigex, "What began as rumors at the 2003 Electronic Entertainment Expo, has now turned into a reality. Midway recently announced that the second volume in the Midway Arcade Treasures classic compilation would feature none other than the first three Mortal Kombat titles. The set will also feature several other classic Midway and Williams arcade releases, but the original MK games will likely draw the most interest."
