Nintendo sets record sales in US

From November 18th through November 24th, Nintendo set a US record of sales for Nintendo products. Article:

Nintendo of America has sold more products from November 18th through November 24th than any other time in history.

*A record of 653,000 Nintendo DS was sold during Thanksgiving break. It beat the previous record of 600,000 Gameboy Advance sold in 2005.

*350,000 Wii and millions of games and accessoriesӔ were sold. The 350,000 figure for the Wii is the highest one-week total in the U.S. since the systems launch last year. "Nintendo claim that the Wii has reached a total of 5 million units sold faster than any other console in U.S. history. Nintendo also points out that the success of both consoles has come despite no official price cuts."

Opinion:

What a huge breakthrough for Nintendo. Setting US records is a huge accomplishment. "Black Friday" not only helped Nintendo but it helped other game systems as well.
