Original Xbox games headed to Xbox 360
360 Owners get an Original Boost this December!
Microsoft today announced that in celebration of Xbox Live's fifth birthday, Microsoft would unveil a new Xbox Live service for 360 owners: Xbox Originals.
As the name states, this new feature will give 360 owners the ability to download original Xbox titles to their 360s in their full and original format. These games will cost 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) to download, and the initial launch lineup is set to include Halo, Psychonauts, Crimson Skies: High Road To Revenge and Fable. More, as yet unnamed titles are set to be released at launch as well, but Microsoft has promised that the lineup of original Xbox games will grow dramatically throughout the coming year.
Xbox Live subscribers will receive the download that enables the Xbox Originals features starting December 4th.
Subscribers will also be given an added bonus in the form of a free Xbox Live Arcade game available from November 15th at 12:01PM PST to November 16th at 11:59PM PST. For those in Korea, the game will be Hexic 2, while the rest of the world will get Carcossonne.
Any subscriber that joined in 2002 will get yet another bonus, in the form of 500 Microsoft points to use any way they see fit. This is a genuine thank-you effort from Microsoft to their subscribers.
Look for the downloads on December 4th.
